I went to see this car and i reckon it will make a good one but price is too high. All spheres need replacing to do the job right ,the bonnet needs painting and dont be fooled by him saying its driveable, the clutch does not diss-engage at all so would have to be started in gear and crunched through the box on the move. Dont know if its just a simple fix like the cable needs adjustment but clutch felt "funny" when pressed to me.
Good solid body with nice interior ,just a fag burn on back seat and needs a damn good clean ,oh and a wheel trim missing.
Richard.

Am I glad I found this thread, I was thinking of driving 3hrs to look at it!

Am I right in thinking the clutch is an engine out job? Does anybody have the book time? Based on what the vendor had said, I was thinking of driving it (semi clutchless) to the S of France where I have nice man who works very cheaply.

But spheres as well -it all starts to add up. The vendor had said no hydraulics problems!

Clutch can be done with engine in situ, and once on the move I think she will drive ok, but to the S of France, I wouldn't.

I'm not adverse to doing a clutch on a decent straight n/a19d but like Richard says, it's just too much £££ :(
