I've just spotted this thread.

I looked at this car last August when I was looking for mine as it is only 5 miles from me.

It was on autotrader for a grand at the time and I must say I was not impressed and walked away very quicky. The pictures are the same as those used last year.

It was sitting on its Belly in the back corner of his yard amounst the crap seperated from his posh stock by a high fence and I suspect that it is still in that position now.

The sales bloke said that he had bought it at auction because "he always liked them" and that "they are a rare and desirable classic".... Hmmm! I know what I read into that... He saw it very cheep, looked at the miles and rubbed his hands together. He said that the suspension started to leak on the way back from auction.

It is not as good as it looks in the pictures. The inner wing tops are rusty, there's rust on the c post bottoms and it is covered in deep scratches. One is very big across the roof (screw driver???) and was rusty last August. The interior was in good nick but quite dirty.

As for the HLM leak. At the time I didn't really know what to look for but the tank area was covered in fluid and their was a big puddle under the engine. At the time, the sales bloke didn't know what was wrong as well so he just made noises about it's a cheap fix etc etc etc.

My impressions....

Go with a trailer, 100quid in your back pocket and a smile on your face :) .... Then dust off the spanners
