STILL got crappy fuel consumption, and clouds of back smoke

Took it out again early this morning for a quick thrash, it's like driving a different car. Blatted up the hill at 90mph and no smoke. V. happy, thanks folks.

When I was running a ZX 1.9TD I never got beyond the low 40's per gallon

and never seemed to stop changing gears. I seemed to be forever changing up and then on hills changing down. Mind you mine was crap.

I have to agree with fuel consumption based on my own experience with a 306 DTurbo. Never saw better than 45mpg, though it did used to go well.

Wasn't that smoky, but I did enjoy giving it a bootfull if someone was tailgating me. As a lot of my driving was city-based (which perhaps helps explain the consumption, though it didn't really improve when I moved to the sticks) it would build up to the extent that I could create quite a smoke-screen to punish tailgaters! More noticeable at night rather than any acrid clouds mind.

Thanks for all the help and advice (sarcasm and smart remarks), folks. Four new injector nozzles later, it's running much better. Now, thanks to all the gibes and mickey-taking about buying a BX, 'specially from Steve, I'm going back to Andyspares.com, there's a proper forum there.
