To set the record straight on this one gents as it seems someone has got a little upset.

I do not know if the car has been repaired or repainted as I have not seen it myself, it was just an observation. It looks to be in excellent condition by the pictures so worth a closer look if you're after one.

We'll it seems not. The comment about possible paintwork was taken in the wrong vain.

It's an old car - it might have done - so what? Aftermarket bumper, de-badged - what would anyone think?

I shall refrain on passing comment on cars in future as it seems I know nothing, im either way out on my values and of course trying to inflate prices for my own gain or I make a observation and its taken as gospel and im accused of slander......maybe time for a change I think.

Anyone fancy writing the column as I dont enjoy it, im bored of the backbiting and have little enough time as it is.

I didn't think anyone was getting upset, other than you Tim?

Debadging is quite popular in other scenes and is one of the easiest/cheapest modifications you can do to clean up the look of a car.

Stop your bleating and man up boy! If we all refrained from commenting in fear of contrary comments we wouldn't have a forum. You are a highly respected member of this forum and don't understand this accusation of inflating prices for your own gain as I never for one minute thought this of you, I just think your enthusiasm for the BX sometimes see's them as worth a lot more in your eyes than the market yet realises, just a little ahead of the time.

I thouroughly enjoy your contributions so stop your complaining and get on with It! ^^ ^^ ^^bx>

It wasnt published on the forum so you wouldnt be party to it. Someone rightly or wrongly thought I was being unfair and had a go at me for it which kinda took me back. With the hassle over that blue TZD turbo last week im a bit pissed off tbh, I do the BX column aswell unpaid and in my own time and its just assumed that if someone wants to sell cars or parts they can ring me any time of the day or night and expect me to rehome them, which I will of course try and do.

I do dedicate too much time to cars in general so need to have a rethink as im not getting much from it now.

In that case Tim I would drop it like a hot potatoe; your life is about you and those closest to you, this life is not a trial run so you can get it right next time. You only get one chance and you need to live your live to the fullest for you and your's now as there is no next time mate.

I can highly recommend SCUBA diving as a fantastic full-filling hobby you can do along side occasional car enthusiasm.

While I think you do a great job on the column (as well as here), if you're not getting enough out of it then maybe it's time to hand it over. I've just given up the post of Secretary of the Veteran-Cycle Club after 6 years, as I found that what time I had for playing with old bikes was being used for Club work instead.

As for people getting upset about postings, As far as I read you only suggested the possibility of some previous work as a reason for missing badges etc., and if people want to misread that as you stating facts and then get upset about it it's their fault, not yours.

I get alot from the club in many ways, and have made some true friends but it does alot of time, expecially lately where most weekends have involved something car related. Ill step back for a bit, get this year over with and see how the land lies, I have already sold WTF and aim to sell another BX later in the year, probably the DTR which would be a shame after all the work Ive done but the TZi is my ultimate BX and the GT too good to let go unless of course the money was too tempting.

As for another hobby I just dont have time, 1 day off a week against 50 hours at work.

^ That. (my bold)

Post a BX on e-bay and details will get picked up and posted on here and will get commented on/speculated about. Most of what I've seen on this thread has been complimentary about the car - this ain't even in the same county as some of the commentary some other 'for sales' or 'spotteds' that I've seen. I would hope that most genuine sellers would appreciate/value independent and honest appraisal from experts in the BX field, freely given and possibly providing good assurance for interested-just-lurking-here potential buyers.

The nice thing about a public forum is that everyone is free to air their opinions and everyone is free to agree or disagree. Whether we hold with what is said is neither here nor there; the freedom to say it is absolutely paramount. If that freedom is not upheld for fear of offending delicate sensibilities, it ceases to be a free and democratic forum but a platform for particular groups to pursue their own interests. We have enough of that shit in the rest of public life without bringing it on here.

Not only that Paul ,none of us want to see another of our bx friends get ripped off or just miss something that someone else (a potential buyer ?) May have missed so to comment on any advert is fair game wether the comment be good or bad , of course the only real way to judge a car is to physicaly view it yourself,
I still think I was lucky buying the meteor blind but did take notice of all the comments that had been made on the thread that was on here.
