You've got to admit though... there's no other method found yet that is as efficient.

Personally, I can't stand auto-boxes. I find driving boring enough as it is without having the gearbox play silly-buggers all on it's own.

And they do play silly buggers. I've yet to drive an auto that is actually in the right gear for the prevailing conditions.

As long as there's a manual option, I'll be happy.

Well, yes and no mate, ZF Commercial auto's are uber impressive, hydraulic lock up on the torque converters make them as efficient as manuals, they are REALLY controllable and work well with loads of torque that a dirty great 6 pot diesel hoofs out.

I have to say, the XM Auto I had was a joy, again, partial lock up on third and full lock up on fourth, and dad's BX is possibly the best auto I've ever driven, said without bias, it just works so well attached to the TD engine, and for me, works aswell as any manual. It's got the torque to pull from low revs without making it hard work, and if you want rapid acceleration, hit kickdown and it boots you in the ar$e.

Maybe I'm just lazy..........

Cheers

Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

I have to agree, I've driven several autos including Toyota and Mercedes... and my BX GTi auto's box is the best.
