Oh, apologies ian, getting confused again in my old age. I though Superchips were supposed to be great things providing the engine was healthy enough?

Yeah I'd agree Ian - it should make up for the extra sluggishness of the 4x4. When I had mine I loved the handling, but hated that you had to plan accelerating and overtaking several miles in advance. Mind you mine was knackered anyway...

Sticking a chip in a standard GTi would do practically nothing unless cammed and played with. When you start looking at the injection system, cams, blueprinting, gas flowing and balancing then you'll see bigger returns.

A truely nice GTi 8v is my favourite car in the world without a doubt. I never felt like mine needed any more power. It was just a very well balanced car.

Ian - i thought it was a simple case of swapping the ecu's, thats all that was required?? i will do some research & advise on this thread.

10 bhp doesnt sound much, but these are quite light cars so it should still be noticeable.....
