To insert a link, the forum software helps you to higligt a copied link address text - to show as a clickable link.

You may simply point at the heading of the thread, then rightclick mouse and do a completely normal copy/paste into your reply text.
You can do the same on the address field shown in your browser.

You dont need to add the URL tags to the text.
