According to the guy's auction linked fitting instructions:

"THE SPOILER WILL ONLY FIT IN ONE PLACE, WHICH MAY
NOT BE THE EXPECTED POSITION"

So, the bonnet it is then!?

There's also mention of roof spoilers so an estate may get one after all...

Like the guy I spoke to in my local scrappy the other day removing a Xant!a
Activa spoiler to fit to the trailing edge of the roof of his old Transit -
"cos it looks like those new VW vans and it's just a bit of fun..."

Here's hoping he's bolted it on firmly, or maybe he just superglued it...

Seconded!!!!

Cituning did a pretty good body kit / styling bits for estates. Although I've never seen one in this country, so imagine they are like rocking horse sh!t.

I do like this one, but it looks as though he's bodged a standard one on there.

I considered for all of thirty seconds whether the spoiler that fixes on the rear window of an AX GT Mk1 would work on my Break ( simply cos there was one lying in front of me at the time). Then I thought - why ruin a good design?

So I stuck it back on with "No Nails"

Er, kinda, it's supposed to add downforce to push the car down loading the rear end more, the ride height itself is largely irrelevant. It's a cheaper way of adding "weight" to the back end without carrying a bag of sand, but in practice the actual ground effect of the baby walker on a BX is unbelievably marginal in the extreme.

In short, you are quite right, it's a really useful tool to perch your beer on!
But not at speed.....
