Oohh Mot'ed is it? Hmm may get me credit card out unless it reaches silly money of course. Notice the low fluid warning lights on on the dash tho! Maybe could fill it up with LHM and drive it home maybes? And of course rip them reflectors off!

What sort of money would it cost to fix a octopus on that car?

Is it not driveable `as is` Marty? I`d imagine about 2-2.5 hours from you?

4 hrs 16 minutes each way according to AA autoroute (which is often a bit enthusiastic about travel times)

Im sure you can imagine the sounds made by me as my wife carves my wedding tackle off with a blunt rusty knife when I tell her Im off to Windsor for another BX

Couldnt replace the octopus myself as I have neither the ability nor the the tools to do so! Plus I am mechanically backward remember. Would it be driveable with two big bottles of LHM?

Id very much doubt it! It's usually one of the high capacity lines that blows (not that it matters since there all connected) but the likely hood is it will dump as much fluid as you can throw at it in a couple of yards!!

All it's missing is A/C. If it had that I would loose the 405 in a second, and have it as my daily driver. BX seats are an order of magnitude better than 405 ones, and it would be a better tow car too.

I wonder how easy it would be to modify Xanta/405 Aircon parts to fit a BX... Many bits will be similar!

David I have to say that the seats in my old Peugot 405 XE (the mingebag version) were of equal comfort to the ones in my old BX TGD. Bloody brilliant, even a 5 hour journey felt like a 5 minute one.

I find the "tip" adjustment on the BX seats (where you can wind the front of the seat up and down) absolutely brilliant. The 405 seats are too low at the front for my liking, and don't support the back of your legs, giving me legache after prolonged driving.

BX seats, adjusted properly, are brilliant in comparison. I can use an entire tank of fuel in one go, and still be confortable.

Thus, if anyone has a BX TD estate with A/C... I'll 'ave it!
