Personally I'd always want to find out the reason for selling, especially if the seller hasn't owned it long. I doubt he's going to make enough to retire comfortably on though!

Polish makes a car appear more desirable to most people, and even if you consider yourself not to care about cosmetics, ask yourself whether you'd pay an extra £50 on an otherwise identical car which was washed/polished, simply because it gives the impression it's been better cared for?

If anyone does buy this, I have a good condition matching driver's seat if required.
I promised I would say no more, but ...... I like the way you put that

If you fancy the car, put in an offer, if you're suspicious, ignore it, but for god's sake let's stop trying to second guess the motives of the seller, because life is too short.

For my money, it looks great and if I were in the market for a GTi, I would be bimbling up to Woodford to take a look.

By the way, dealers' motor warranties are rarely worth anything more than the paper they are printed on. The loopholes are wide enough to drive a Challenger through and that's before you factor in the malpractice that goes on.

I prefer the Python excuse... "it's a fair cop, but society's to blame!" A broad target that has to be right to some degree...

Look at the third picture again now, with some subtle editing! Hahahaha! Is someone on here secretly and self-consciously selling it or has the seller been following this thread?

I'll go through all the posts on the whole forum since August last year and come up with a list of suspects, I might have the list by January 2013

Just to reassure everyone ... even my best (worst?) trance music couldn't force me to do that \:D/
