I sold a lot of parts to a young chap called Matt who had a grey BX16v (I recall his Dad was called Keith I think and was a motoring journalist or similar). He will know what a shed the donor car was ! Nothing went to waste off the car as I put an add on ebay saying all parts for sale for postage cost and dustbin day was looming. People had the lot. I must confess to breaking a reasonable one many many years ago when they were selling for £150...it had a leaking water pump and the octopus pipe was u/s and the garage labour charge was over 8 hours and the owner couldn't justify it. Hindsight is a wonderful thing and I wish I had kept it instead of buying it just for the engine for a 205, as it's gone full circle now, with standard cars being sought after.
I can't remember the last time I saw a BX in the flesh, so I hope they are now being cherished, as I still have a soft spot for them, especially unfaded red 16valvers .

Ooooops, small typo. I meant the Hurricanes remote fob thingy. don't get me wrong, I loved my Hurricane and would love another, although I heard they suffer rust more than most.

Finished at £377 and only the fronts not a set
That is possibly the saddest thing I have ever seen
No it's not. This is . . .
Personally, I think close on 400 quid for a pair of mudflaps is completely f***ing hatstand, but it just goes to show that if something is rare and folks want it badly enough they'll cough up.
I can't believe I missed those mudflaps for that snip of a price! Probably will never taste the flavour of real mud either. Better investment than art.
There was a bloke here paid 100 sheets about five years ago for some new cubby hole doors for a BX Estate. They must be worth ten times that now Hope he's kept them in a climate controlled safe.

Hello! That was me. The grey 16v of mine you saw has since gone to another guy on here - and yes the one you were breaking was considerably worse than that was - and that was(Is still!) fairly crusty. Still have most of the parts I bought off you, and some of it has come in very handy. I noticed you sold the engine a while back too, and was tempted to buy it as a spare...
Hi Matt, Good to hear you are keeping well. I decided that with a young family, full time work and a lower back issue, working on cars is not really something I do much now. I don't mind quck or light easy tasks. I have started using a garage for work now and they don't really like me as I tell them exactly what the problem is, so they can't do spurious work.
I have a 205 still, but will probably sell up once the weather gets watmer and people have got over Christmas.
ps, I sold the remote for £85 in the end. I thought I would quit while I was ahead.
