No, but a lad at work is selling his Niva and I`d forgotten about it. What I bought was this little, ahem, `beauty`...

Drove back alright and as an added bonus had a good £45`s worth of fuel in it too.
Quite a few minor-ish niggles to attend to (speedo doesn`t work, wants about £300 spending in jet washing fees for the exterior and the interior, spare wheel flat, riddled with dents etc) but I couldn`t say no at that price. Long MOT and a few week`s rent into the bargain, got the train up today (only about 20 miles) and drove it back.
Kids think it rocks, can`t see the missus being overjoyed but what the heck!
Anyone going to save this?

I had a go at some gentle green laning/off roading type shenannigans this after`s Ian. What a bloody laugh that was, a bit of attempted drifting, some seriously deep holes and puddles and gently testing how far I`d dare to go.
Looks like there`s a few decent off-road courses where you can `pay and play` round here and I`m itching to have a go. My kids, especially my lad, thought it was great fun this afternoon.
So far I`m very impressed, especially at the price I paid for it.

I'll come play! Been to a few round here but always in a Landrover, will be interesting to see how stuck i can get a Frontender. Friendly hint though, 1) TAKE WELLIES 2) Get DECENT recovery points fitted before your first go 3) take only a spade, and swear down that you can get any vehilce out of any hole with only your spade!cavmad wrote: Looks like there`s a few decent off-road courses where you can `pay and play` round here

Vanny, you`re on mate! There`s a course somewhere fairly close to Stewart`s place. Looked it up on tinternet and seems like a right laugh.
I`ll try and find when the next `pay and play` day is and give you a shout, let`s see if we can add some more dents to the collection already started
I have seen people off roading at the Horsehoe Pass but I`m not entirely convinced it`s either legal or done with the permission of the land owner.

The plod seem to regularly chuck people off the pass unfortunately, it has changed a lot up there in recent years, bits getting fenced off, unfortunately the 4x4 brigade really chew the place up and it takes a long time to recover, twenty years ago I used to ride my enduro bike up there, the tracks were a foot wide, last time I was up there walking they were more like fifty feet wide, If you can find a proper place it should be great fun, when I went offroading in my landcruiser I took another landcruiser and a bloody strong chain, getting bogged in the middle of nowhere is bugger all fun, in British coal if you got the landrover stuck the forfeit was to buy fish and chips for your mates
