Have 'worked' on the missus today and managed to convince her that getting an XM and selling the Xantia would be a 'wise move' so I'm looking with intent now....if you see any 2.1TDs give let me know cos I am thoroughly bored with the Xantia
An XM..sorry! Advice please

Mmmmm, when I met her she was driving a Polo 'Holiday' (or something, I dunno, the one with the slidy 'push back if you have arms like Fatima Whitbread' type dealy roof thingys). Anyway, wasn't long before twas swapped for Satans green blooded machine which I hope (and correct spec permissing) be replaced by an XM......See, from the moment I met her, I knew your missus had great taste in automotive art!

For your last quote I'll let you off all previous misdemeanours
Mr Fearn is also excused because he called me 'youth', something that no-one has called me in a long time, though he'd be even better thought of if he bought a Bedford CF instead

Boy-racer knobheads don't drive VW Campers, so they're OK!
I must confess, I am not a fan of VW's, no matter what the vintage/make/model...esp them noisy rear engined air cooled types.
Are you going for a oldy type camper Ian or one of the more recent ones?
Billy, oh master, I am not worthy of your forgiveness...but do humbly accept...that said....I'm not a GM Vauxhall fan either....esp the ruddy Vectra.....

I had a polo fox coupe 3dr in white, great little motor thats been in our family since new. Ok it's crap, but it was reliable, felt solid, good on gas, did 105 flat out & actually handled well on those skinny tyres even though the body roll was laughable, but the best bit was that it was ace in the snow.
No power steering, no electric windows, no stereo, no abs, no airbags, only 4spd, infact there wasnt much of anything, it did have a rear wash wipe though, tiny 1litre engine & 45bhp, but i could really hustle that car along & it kept up with much faster cars on the twisties.
I rembember giving a geezer in his tvr the shock of his life, as i flew over a roundabout overtaking him (yes he did blast past on the straight), but i was smiling to myself
. If i was really strapped for cash i would have it straight back, my cousin is now enjoying the coupe ownership experience.
Another 10 years & that will probably be a classic....

You had to spoil it didn't you? You were doing so well then wrecked it
You won't be safe in the valleys either boyo, I've been training the BXClub's goat to attack sheep and then assume the disguise of an innocent looking poodle and make his own way back.

You had to spoil it didn't you? You were doing so well then wrecked itI never got the point of air cooled VWs either, and pretty much everything else they've made since. Over priced and over hyped but each to their own.

I want a new as possible this time. My last one was rear engined but watercooled. It sounded great through its standard exhaust. I love the sound of flat engines.
A new VW type 5 California will set you back £38,000....
