Fantastic beasts. I've driven one of those early 'Quartic' ones - it's rather difficult to do the "push-pull" through your hands method of steering that the instructors teach. Drove ren16tx's W reg Allegro 3 half way back from the BL meet at Peterborough at the weekend. Actually quite good, very well behaved for a car that's been off the road for 5 years!

Early SD1's had that sort of 'square' steering wheel as well. Soon got 'lost' on the police spec ones along with the crappy brakes and the wheels in favour of working examples....
