That's why I keep it under a cover in a barn! Seriously though, I don't think 'birds' go for 80s estates with baby seats in the back and either a dog or bags of cement in the boot.
For serious pulling power I prefer the outlaw image of my Honda C50 moped - unrestrained power and glamour! Either that or it's that pizza you ordered earlier. :D

Chin up, Paul, it'll work out OK. Patience: take each problem in turn. The main thing is to find that the engine and turbo are OK - if not, you have a case for a refund IMHO.

If you got it from Medway Citroen's workshop then you were in deepest. darkest Kent.

Shame about the bits not working - I had to do loads on mine (I think I only paid a bit less than you, but it was private) - brakes, octopus, cv joint boot and a couple of funny noises yet to be cured. I still like the car though, and every penny spent is a penny I won't have to spend on boring things like food and clothes ;-) My front electric windows are sarcastic too - they only work unassisted in cold weather or when it's raining :?

Didn't you notice the dash-gear malfunction before you left? I'm guessing the tacho is mechanical so might not be too hard a fix. The one I bought from there lacked dash lights, so I used to have to carry a torch to keep an eye on things at night. All part of the fun of old cars I'm afraid - you have to put a little bit of yourself into it then you'll appreciate it more.

I've found people are very knowledgeable and helpful on the Technical area of the forum too.

Good luck Paul.

it must have had a tailgate swap then, the TZD on that year would have had a "babywalker" style spoiler. Ask Tim for more details. :D

The rev counter is electrical, but again, an easy fix, new sensor required. The odometer trip is a common BX fault. Not sure about the fuel gauge though, first thing would be check the connections at the tank sender, under rear seat.
The ABS is a worry, the light must come on with the ignition, have you tried the ABS to see if it works?

But you must contact Medway to let them know about these faults, otherwise they cannot help you.
They think it's all over, it is now!

Yep totally agree, this is where your education on BX's begins. Enjoy the ride!

From what I remember about BX fuel gauges they were hit and miss at the best of times.
If you make a note of how much fuel (in litres) you put in everytime and can work out the approximate economy then just re-set the mileometer and Bob's your aunty's fella.

Thanks
Ya the milomliter dont work. It can not reset. Back to 000 I press the botton in many a times. But only slighty moves.
So god knows how much deisel i have. It was a good job i spotted it driving back down. From Kent to Lincoln. It s stuck on 3 qualter of a tank. Might be the sup whats stuck. Need to check it out at the weekend.

Could a fuse have gone in the car. as well To make some of the stuff not work

Another problem is the suspsion lever. Its really stiff and hard to move to the top setting.
Is this normal

thanks
