To be honest, its only us goons that are mesmerised by mk1's, the rest of the world dont care, infact its probably less desirable as its even older than the mk2's. Do the bods in the ccc even bother with BX's??

Hopefully you will get it ! I would, if I would have the space. I have no doubt that one day that nice 80s dashboard will be a real collectable. It must be one of the last cars with the famous drum speedo.

I think you have been proved wrong stuart that BX's aren't worth that much...Indeed that was a gorgeous car and i'm sorry you missed out. Last year I bought two mk I's off ebay both less than £60.. I doubt i'll get anywhere near that now..

Ive tried to contact the buyer but big brother that is ebay wont allow it! may be worth contacting the seller again and asking if he will give the new owner the clubs details.

I hope its not been bought buy someone just after a "cheap runabout"

Tim, i've had the same exact problem, you probably tried contacting the seller via the item that has ended, hence e-bay thinks, thats dodgy so we wont allow it.

However, if you contact the member direct that should work ok, or i did it via another listing that was still open.

This probably doesnt make much sense

, so i wont feel offended if u ignore.....

It's a good idea... I'll contact the seller and ask him to pass details on.

I am surprised that it went so high, but in a funny kind of way it's a good thing. It sounds perverse, but it's good news for us if values rise: it means that the BX is being appreciated, and it's happening while there are still good numbers of the cars around. It didn't happen for the GS until it was too late... values are just beginning to rise, but there aren't really enough cars left.

I dont think the've risen, if anything they seem to be getting cheaper, some perfectly nice cars cant even make £400?? its a buyers market, some go for peanuts, others go for decent money. I guess its who's after one & how much they are prepared to pay on any given week, determines the price.

Its like a yoyo, up & down, no idea what they may fetch until the auction has ended. Those veg oil BX's werent doing all that well, until last few bids flew in & price lept up, but none made £500.

In a way i'm glad they are cheap, we will only moan when they go up, claiming that we are being priced out & cant afford to buy one. So while they're cheap, start stocking up....
