If, as it looks like there will be, there's a meeting of like minds in the locality, would it be OK if I popped along to show off the new motor and meet some of you?

Hmmm. I choose to ignore that prior instruction.

Well, I didn't manage to find the car - must be tucked up in a driveway away from the road somewhere - but a guy from Tonteg who drives a white 1.1-litre Fiesta with an RS Turbo sticker on the back has just found out that his 'RS Turbo' can quite easily be embarrassed by a bearded bloke in a BX turbodiesel.

I'll be heading back from Scouseland next sunday, so if the timings right I might stop by and stick my oar in, ya know, being a big headed know all like!!

Oh, and yes Ian, It is chain driven, gearbox in sump lump. Not the sweetest engine on earth, but..... they seem to last well.

Of course I was only kidding Capri!! Just me SOH gone into warped mode!! I am very happy for you all to visit my house and have refreshments/use the toilet/wash my cars/mow the lawn etc if that suits anybody...I am about 3 - 4 miles west of Tonteg. There is also a decent pub enroute to the M4 which serves ale for the beardies and good food.
