:D I now have a fully functioning BX. The manual choke conversion has been fitted and it starts fine... even when hot :D

We're off to a 2CV camp in Somerset at the weekend and we're taking the BX... I'll let you know how we get on.

Good man, was it much involved that choke conversion? just worth considering if my 16 plays up again.

It was really easy... I drove it to Wellingborough last Sunday and collected it this morning

I usually like to do stuff like that myself but lack of time and all that

Michael (the guy who did the work) did say that it was a straight forward job though... what was time consuming was the fact that the carb settings were all over the place as someone in the past has tried to "fix" the problem.

Right! A little bit delayed but time for a quick up date...

A couple of weeks ago we headed down to Somerset in the BX for a small-but-perfectly-formed 2CV camp with a bunch of thoroughly decent mates. We covered nearly 600 miles during the course of 3 days and the ol' girl never missed a beat :D

Life really does not get much better than this in my humble opinion:

The grey H Van in the forground belongs to my mate Chas Vacy-Ash (who has just bought a lovely BX17 turbo diesel estate and he will hopefully be appearing soon. It is kitted out as a field kitchen for camping trips and we have followed it all over Europe for the 2CV world meetings in recent years.

The green H belongs to another good mate of ours, Darren Arther. It is kitted out as a camper and will quite happy cruise at speeds way above the speed limit as it is powered by a Rover V8 8)

... and discovered a new way to save gas whilst cooking brekkie:

My lad Joseph loved cooking his own beakfast on the embers of the night before's bonfire.

As well as washing off the finest Somerset poo I sorted out the only surface rust I could find on the body..

The bottom corner of the n/s front door:

...and at the base of the rear wheel arch:

Both areas have now been cured and a thorough waxoiling is next on the list before the weather gets too grotty... Happy days

Oh and I still have to fit the Tow bar I got from Kitch :)

BX Club trip to Cheddar Gorge, Hell yes.

Ive just commented on Rich's similar pics over on the 2CVGB forum, it must be over 15 years since i went to cheddar gorge (and that was on a motorbike club ride out) I feel old sometimes, despite not being.
