Not for me that one Stinkwheel, I personally don't like the look of the hatch I like the Saloon with the Boot (strange fettish I know) + the estate (wagon) are brill.
There is deffinately now something about old Jap cars that is now appealing though.

Fair enough sir.

Well we had a great weekend but all did not quite go to plan due to Mother Nature sticking her oar in

The event we were raiding was the anual 2CVGB run to Tan Hill which is the highest pub in England situated in the north of the Yorkshire dales. On Friday evening Melanie and I met with Chas and Rachel Vacy-Ash, their two Lads and our mate John Stenhouse with his trusty Dyane at the Woodall services on the M1.



On meeting we had to drive north to Thwaite in the dales where we were staying for the weekend. After a detour due to a navigational goof and the A61 being closed we eventually reached Hawes then had to cross over Buttertubs pass at 11pm in a howling gale with thick snow on the road... which was... erm... interesting on the 1-in-4 decents with an autobox

We all made it safely and after a much needed sleep we threw back the curtains to this:

After eating a suitably large breakfast it was out for a walk/stagger/drag/slide and take a few pictures

Sunday morning dawned with yet more snow having fallen over night and we set out to cross back over Buttertubs pass to meet the convoy at Hawes...

This is the lower part of Buttertubs pass and is bloody steep:



However, at the first hairpin all three cars failed to go any further so we slid back down and set off on the long way around back to Hawes to meet the 2CV convoy:

On route we had a chance meeting with another 2CVGB member



We finally got to Hawes about 12.30 to find a small gaggle of 2CVGB club members frozen to the tarmac.

So we never actually made it up to Tan Hill because Buttertubs pass and Keld bank were both unpassable due to deep snow so we had lunch in Hawes and headed for home.

The old BX did 512 miles in a weekend in sub zero temperatures and snow and never missed a beat.

Even Melanie is a fan of it now which is praise indeed.

Heres to the next adventure.

It's Nits night Wednesday if you are about Matt. It will be good to have a BX gathering.... I'll even shout you a beer.

In the end I ended up with two towbars to choose from... A genuine Citroen one and this Dutch aftermarket jobbie. I chose to use the Dutch one because I like the "swan neck" design. The Citroen one has been stored in my outhouse for future use if needed.

Very carefull bumper triming was required which took me ages as I wanted to cut the bare minimum needed:

I ran out of energy and enthusiasum late this afternoon to wire in the electrics but everything is in place to simply connect into the wires that feed the light clusters
