So here is what i have been working on:

the engine is nearly ready to go in, all i await is a clutch kit from GSF.
the engine bay needed a clean as it would simply not do if you put a newish engine into a dirty bay.

The interior was from a bloke in the mid to north of england i think somewhere there, from a white phase 2 16v i shipped it at a cost, but hey life is not free,

maybe i am crazy, but i dont care, i spend my life working on my cars it seems. but you have got to have a hobby.

it is a bit weird i have never had a TZD with gymnasium rear windows. also it does not have the door open lights in the middle of the dash.
It seems a bit weird. being an Image?

it was a sad looking one, had many issues. slowly they are being attended to.

that was before the disco had it raise so the rear suspesion was a bit saggy.

No electric mirrors & rear windows aren't electric either?? Is this a N/A TZD or the Turbo?

Infact i've just spotted the front bumper isn't from a tzd either, i presume this is a different model & you're just making a tzd?

Different markets had different specs Mulley, the french 16vs had wind up windows in the back and the "R/TG" had wind up windows all round. No sunroof either. The french spec TZD turbo was the same visually as the 19TZD 16TZS but with a TD lump, over here it was made into a GTi lookalike.

i call it the tzd as it is turbo, after my old UK one. but it seems to be a mid spec turbo diesel.

the engine will be in soon, i am just waiting on the clutch then away we go, the gearbox has got its new seals and have pulled it apart to check the diff bolts and fith gear nuts then it is all systems go.

EK in the chassis number denotes it as an Image/RD/TGD Turbo

I'll get my coat...

Although TX models are not actually listed in Citroen parlance, I think they are the same as the French Image models.

I'm too lazy to run out to the barn to check the chassis number on the TXD estate, but seem to remember it's the same as the van, so XF covers, RD, TD, TGD and TXD diesel estates. Therefore I reckon you have a TXD Turbo. It looks as though it has the chrome grille and painted bumpers of a TX but can't see the rear end. If it has a hoop spoiler and blacked out bottom half of the tailgate then I'd be pretty confident you've got a TXD Turbo

there you have it then.
yeah it has the pram handle spoiler and black bottom on the boot.
right so it is a TXD Turbo. nice
when i looked up bx image all i could find were french bx's.

cheers for that

I saw an Image last year in the French scrappers - it had a rather fetching red pinstripe on black interior. What was left of it anyway. Had a sort of nightclub vibe to it!

i used to have an estate car in the uk with the red striped seats. looked good i thought.
that car had a sad end. got kicked in by chavs off the council estate.

I got the engine in and ran it for the first time only for a min. when i heard a faint funny noise for the first few seconds, it went away so i carried on putting it together.
went to put coolant in and them could hear a trickle of water. water pump has gone bad and is coming out faster than i could put it in. what a laugh. the noise was the water pump seal ripping. bastard. now waiting on a water pump. clutch feels smooth though.
