If its a GT then it should have the bumper strips and fog lamps too, is there a switch to the left of the indicator pod for it?, also being based on a GT it should have the twin stripes above the rubbing strips on the doors (black and red) The sunroof was optional though on the GT depending one when it was built.

The car in the Conservatoire was badged as a BX19DIGIT, with no GT monica, and had no spoilers, fog lamps or bumper strips.....

AFAIK the Digit was visually more discreet than the GT, so no bumper rubbing strips, fog lights or even rear spoiler could be the way it left the factory...

Tim, I would tend to agree with Jay on this one  looking at the factory BROCHURE albeit its for the LHD/French market.

Which therefore is in-line with the one you saw at the Conservatoire !

Could be, although the french and uk spec cars did differ greatly with the ones found on the contitent being far more basic than over here.

Does anyone have a UK Digit Brochure?

Checked car this morning and there doesnt seem to be any switch for the front spots to the side of dashboard pod ,neither front or rear bumpers show any signs of having had the rubbing strips (unless both been changed at some point?) and the original tailgate which had the non standard "pram handle" GTI rear spoiler didnt look to have ever had the "GT" style spoiler as there were no holes drilled for fixing(there again it may have been changed at some point) but the original style blue log book does state it as been a 19GT.
Richard.

It is mechanically a GT so therefore I see no reason for the logbook to say otherwise. Ultimately it's a special edition based on a GT. No other UK market hatch had the 1.9 petrol engine in Mark 1 guise so I imagine to register it specifically as a Digit may have involved type approval...

I do have some UK market Digit literature so I'll dig it out and see if there's any mention of spec.

There's some lit in the Citroen "Dates" brochure which came out in the late 80's - early 90's. I think theres some images in that. From memory, it's a standard GT though. The black rear panel on that car isn't right (black was only applied to the Sport and 4TC mk1 models, and became more common on the mk2), the spoiler you've now switched to the correct one and the wheels are either your trims or Metrics. Rubbing strip wise, I think you're looking at GT spec again but there is so much speculation about Digits, I'd guesstimate 75% of what you get told about them is bollocks.

I can't say for sure, but I seem to remember the Digit I saw (& very stupidly didn't buy) didn't have the GT bumper strips.
And it was an original car that hadn't been altered over the years. It had one owner and was actually PDI'd by the chap's son, as he worked at the Citroen dealers.

one of my ultimate BXs that i think. Well done Richard for rescuing, it is starting to look ok. I really like that white one too! I suspect it doesn't have power steering though.

The two other Digits I have seen have both looked like a TR spec saloon with GT wheel trims. However they were both LHD.

Just found this on leboncoin and although Im sure it's not a Digit, especially as it says it's 1983, it looks like the tailgate might be off a Digit but the picnics too blurry to tell.

I've seen 3 DIGIT's, none had fogs or rubbing strips..
I seem to recall a piccy of one on a showroom forecourt, it may even have been on here (?) but I'm fairly sure they didn't have fogs and strips..
