BX rear sub frame removal and de-rusting

A couple of weekend ago I decided to remove the rear-subframe and give a little TLC on my BX 4x4 GTI.

In the process I found that the rear hydraulic lines were in a fairly bad state and one of them split as we gently moved the rear sub frame to the floor. This prompted me to decide that the best move from here was to replace all the pipes while the re-subframe was down and it was easy to access it all :S

anyway, here are a few photos of the removeal and the state of the rear-sub frame after 20 years of neglect...

I like the sandals - you must have steel toe-nail caps and spark proof nail polish on them toes of yours ;-)

Nice one! Quite interesting to see the rear subframe de-mounted. I do still find the idea of a 4x4 BX appealing for some reason...

NO NO NO No No  WTF? Wearing socks with sandals just defeats the object of the sandal. Wooly boots!

If it's good enough for the bishop of wakefield, it's good enough for me

You\'re definately a brave man, Kudos for tackling that.

That bottle jack perched on top of an axle stand though.....I hope that\'s just stabilising it. If that\'s actually bearing the weight of the shell, that\'s how people die!
