My 14 never had one, but all the mk1's and mk2's I've had did have it, which is why it surprised me a bit.
I changed the 16v's one once, and the paint behind it is like new!

I've got a mint deadening panel in the garage which (one day) I'll get round to fitted, so I'll eventually have a spare going (it's trimmed in accoustic cloth, which I didn't think would be too badly affected by the heat.....it is

Dear Tom.
No wonder you are excited, that is a very very nice BX you are
getting then isn,t it Tom =P~ 8) Looking forward to seeing some
lovely photo,s soon then :?:
I must admit I do prefer the look, without the sound proofing on
the bulkhead, it does look really nice and clean under there
All The Best Tom

But again, mine has. Controversy! Under the bonnet, too. Wonder what the tickbox was at the factory for them to install it on some cars and not others, strange. Unless of course previous owners have just removed it to save 500g of precious weight.

Dear Mick.
Firstly so sorry for my late reply, my monitor has been playing up,
but now I have a new one, ( I have been able to use Shari,s, so it
hasn,t been too much of a problem )
I don,t get too much of that " roar " from the induction system on
mine Mick  because it,s an auto you see, all you get is " kickdown "
plus I drive like an old **** anyway aswell.
Take Care Mick. :)

Dear Kitch.
Again so sorry Kitch for my late reply  Thank-you so much
for your very kind comments, my problem is I don,t have anything to
compare with the BX, as it is my first one, it is really very nice of every-
body to put me right, as to how she should be :)
I agree that sound deadening stuff, looks really fab when it is fitted
nicely, especially on parcelshelfs, covering over some nice big speakers. 8) :)
How many BX,s have you had then Kitch :?:  Do you have
one with an upgraded sound system then Kitch :?:
All the best my freind.
Vince.
