Check whether it's actually broken. Happily, that's much more likely.

They seem to just be unconnected............
What would cause overpressuring? If thats what would pop the pipes off.
Just so I'm armed with knowledge prior to worst case scenario.

I'm not actually sure. The Green Tiger did it from time to time and ended up with a replacement strut. Set me back about £120 fitted IIRC - a chap Philip Chidlow knows so sadly not too convenient for you oop there! Could be that someone just didn't put them back on properly or at all at some point. Just shove them on the tubes and keep an eye on them to see if they come off again. Don't use anything to hold them in place as that can just transfer the excess pressure elsewhere in the system. You'll lose a bit of LHM if they come off again (though mainly just when the car sits down) but it's not an emergency situation.

In a nutshell, the strut seals are designed to pass a little bit of LHM to lubricate the sealing faces. This goes back to the reservoir via the rubber (low pressure) return pipes. As the seals wear, more and more LHM can pass until the return pipework can no longer cope with the volume - that's when return pipes start popping off.

That's a shame after such an achievement!

It is a shame. As is usually the case, I'm never going to get back all the money I've spent on it.
BX values seem quite low (as does interest in them), so I may yet end up keeping and enjoying it myself. Though I'd end up single!

How much? Also, did you sort the leak? Is the tick time still high and how is that strut return pipe behaving?

The leak was repaired at MOT by replacing strut return pipe. (I bought two sets in case the other side needed doing, other set for sale, but can happily include these with the car if it sells here)

Tick time is still low (did you mean low?) about every 4-5 seconds now. I dont have the money to improve the old girl any further, as I'm only going to end up selling her supercheap anyway.
Im guessing it needs an accumulator sphere to make it tip top, but selling price will reflect that.

Price? Offers please. I paid £350 for her, MOT work and test set me back £150, but I'm a realist. She is advertised elsewhere (only on Retro Rides atm) for £500 or offers. I dont expect to achieve that, but its a good starting point for haggling down!

If an enthusiast wants to take her on, I'll happily take a hit in the wallet.
