Had a chance to go though the paperwork today. The health and safety stuff is all pretty straight forward, and in fact they have carried out most of the risk assessments themselves and it's basically a case of us agreeing to them.

We have the following included for free:
1 x mains socket
1 x table
2 x folding chairs
4ft high walling where we want it - I suggest having some as a divider between neighbouring stands and that's all.

There are extra sockets, tables and chairs available but at extra cost, so I suggest we give them a miss.

I have to get the details of what we want of the above plus numbers of Car Park Passes, Car Display Passes and Exhibitor Passes (by day) to them by the 15th March, so we have a bit of time to get stuff worked out.

They have also informed me that they are holding the Restoration show at the same venue on November 2nd & 3rd - this is much less a 'polish your car' event and more a 'this is what we're working on' type show, where they actively encourage demonstrations and even working on the cars, so long as the safety of the public is taken into account. If there is interest in this show aswell I'll enquire about a stand there too - personally it's much more my going, and probably better suited to Timex too, and if there's interest I'd be happy to coordinate a stand for both shows.

Resto show sounds a good idea. We are after all a club where many of us like a tinker, and some go full-out for restoration. If that goes well, we could consider the similar show at Stoneleigh if someone closer fancies organising that?

Fancy some welding Mike! Hehe, got some that needs doing on the TXD (drivers door hinge mount area). I very much like the sound of both shows :)

restoration show sounds ideal to me!
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

Just a quick update:

Subject to confirmation, if Tom manages to get it done in time, I hope to have his GT on the stand, together with an early Mk2 17RD. I have space for another car and ideally would like a later model estate if anyone is willing to put one on the stand, as this will give us a nice range of vehicles.

More details to follow...

That'd be great Mat, as that'll also show some of the modifications people can do to these cars!

Is there a campsite nearby? Wondering if there's a cheap accommodation solution. Quite a trek just for one day.

Having a quick look on the net I found this one:

http://www.greenacres-camping.co.uk/ind ... &Itemid=66" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I think you can actually stay on the site but the facilities are minimal to say the least and last time I did it it was quite expensive too. I'll ask and get back to you.

Depending if we have a guest or not, we live half an hour away and can provide a double bed and a fair bit of floor space for anyone that may be interested.

If it's done, i'm there!! We'll see how the money situation goes, our tenant that we rented our house out to passed away two weeks ago and we have to sort the house out and get another tenant back in ASAP, if we do then there shouldn't be a problem getting the GT done by then. It may well be it's first outing! Very handy the show only being half an hour away, if anything goes wrong it's not a big issue.

Just a quick note to say that I haven't forgotten about this show!

I'll be contacting people by PM in the next few days to see if cars are still available.
I'm also hoping to have some info on insurance in the next few days, either for this show only or as an annual policy - early indications are if we decide to do more than a couple of these shows a year then our own policy may be the way to go, but I'm waiting confirmation on that.

I'd also like to ask if I can have one of the banners to put up - I can collect at the X Rally from whoever currently has them if that's OK.

I have an additional display stand I picked up cheap on Ebay - just have to work out the best way to use it. A mate has also been sorting his loft out and has found a load of brochures that are duplicates to his collection, so has kindly donated them for me to use, copy for display material or whatever!

Mike, I still have the laminated brochures we took to the NEC last year, will bring them along to the X-rally for you :)

Thought that an annual policy might be worthwhile for 2+ shows, we won't know until "April or May" (bit vague!) whether we have NEC stand or not but I'm happy to contribute towards an annual policy and take the risk if the sums work.

I'm also planning on applying for a stand at the Bristol Restoration Show in the Autumn - I have Timex on standby for the Classic car show just in case, but I think something like Timex plus either a recently rescued car or recently finished restoration (with pics) at the Resto show will go down well.

Mike, I've got the banners I think. I'll have a root around in the garage next time I visit the BX. Not sure if I'll be bothering with the X rally, but if anyone is passing Lancaster they are more than welcome to collect.

That might be me, I haven't visited the folks in Fleetwood since New Year, and although the "when are we going to see you" hints haven't started yet, they will soon :?
A quick trip up the A6 from Fleetwood wouldn't be far out of my way, and would kill two birds with one stone, so to speak.

If you have got them Mark, let me know and perhaps I can help to deliver the banners down south, as Andrew (TizzyD) and I hope to attend the Bristol Show.

Just have to get Daisy through her MOT in the next couple of weeks :/
