I did find it rather odd that nothing was mentioned about the purchase of the digit yes although I was very very pleased to see it got saved and my hats off to you for turning what was a scrapper into the car it now is, I would have been delighted to have seen some pictures of before and after or even known it was being restored for the bxclusive column. I (and the other columnists) constantly struggle for copy and rarely get any so when someone so invloved with the club decides not to share their experience (when the car has been featured more than once in the Citroenian before) I did feel a bit left out in the cold, but ultimatly its your car, can I ask if you are going to keep hold of it?.

As mentioned I wish your dad all the very best in his retirement and am very sorry to hear his health isnt the best although having been in the "trade" myself for over 20 years I doubt he will find it easy to hang up his boots if you follow me! :D , also thank him for his efforts previously and yourself too in your Uni work, I will say that I am little dissappointed by the lack of communication that the X Rally had been cancelled and if Mark hadnt raised the point it would have been forgotten or too late to do anything about it, expecially when in the past couple of years it has become (thanks to you both) such a great rally that everyone enjoys, myself included and I would have been very sad if it fell by the way side.

Anyway, best of luck chaps, shall we see you at some of the Rallies?

I sent an email to Burghley House today re booking for the X rally. Here's hoping.

Hello Holly.
Further to our conversation on the 19 th of February, re the use of the grounds of Burghley House for a Citroën Car Club event. This event has been held at Burghley for the past two years and has previously been organised by Patrick Rugg. Unfortunately Patrick is unable to continue organising this event, so I have been tasked with the organising for this year. Expected attendance is approx 100 cars, with the potential for 250 people. We would like to have use of the lower field in front of Burghley, which is approached by the second driveway. We have in place public liability insurance and I would just like an idea of the cost involved to host this event at Burghley. I'm looking to book for sometime towards the end of April and it will be on a Sunday. If you could pass this onto to your house management team and get back to me at your earliest possible convenience.
Yours faithfully. Mark Smith.

No worries Mike. I'm still off sick with my back, so I've got spare time to dispose of.

Thank you for your kind words Mark, Matt, Hilary, Sandre and Tim. :)

Regarding the Digit it has long since moved onto pastures new - it now resides in a private collection however is still in the UK.

Doubt it will be seen out and about again however it is rubbing shoulders with another 150 vehicles, some of which worth up to 1.5 Million pounds each...

Being based on the GT, the Digit is in the area of GT/GTi/Hot Hatches in this particular private collection.

Cheers,
Franklin.

P.S. If anyone feels that they would like to join the Section, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

What happened to Dave Rutherfords old Digit? Did Richard of Keithley renovate it or is it now a Chinese washing machine? :?

It's the same car. Richard sold it to Franklin, who in turn restored it and sold it on.

Ah thanks, so no likely reappearance of a Digit in the short term. :(

At least it has a secure future. From what I remember it was a major, major job, and out of the 3 rhd Digits known at the time it was supposedly the best of the 3!

Of the other 2, I remember rumours of 1 in Scotland, but have no idea about the other!

After today's CCC board meeting this will be covered by the citroen car clubs public liability insurance, they have also asked if we would like to set up a BX group and maybe help arrange rallies in the future?.

Just need a yes back from holly at Burleigh, Mark can you ring get tomorrow please buddy.

It will be appearing in next months magazine just in case.
