Yes, I know, I saw your preceding posts but anyone not reading the previous page will be unaware.
I was not chasing him up but merely answering David so he knew he was not alone
Thank you for sending him a reminder anyway.

Many thanks for sending the glove box and door so promptly.Eathan wrote: ↑Thu Apr 22, 2021 11:06 pm Hi,
This car is very very rusty, rustier than previous owners remember - come see for yourself if you want. It was dry stored for maybe 20 of the almost 24 months we have had it and it is still awful. Plus, bad welding repairs. Talking LH door hinge, sill work. No saving this one. Parts have already sold, if this was repairable it no doubt would have been.
For breaking is our BX hatchback. Bought almost two years ago, tried selling it twice, took a deposit once, not heard from him again. It's very rusty. Lovely interior though, best bit about the car. Willing to post almost every part worldwide, just need an address to get a quote. I find prices by looking at what has sold on eBay and lowering it a bit. Engine starts first time everytime, suspension raises almost instantly.
Parts sold -
Scuttle panel
Interior lights
Wiper motor
Front wings
Passenger door mirror
Foglight switch
Everything else is still available, will try to keep the list updated so as to not waste your time.
As described. Fast delivery. Great price.
Thanks again.

This will be the last few days that parts are available for purchase from this car. Quite a lot of the interior available still, seats have sold so shouldn't be in the pictures

Re: Breaking - BX 1.8TD K Reg Hatchback
Hi there, would you be able to hold onto:
- front passenger dock lock and motor
- cig lighter (if in good nick)
- alternator belt tensioning bolts (if it’s a similar setup to 16v as per this thread: viewtopic.php?t=22723
- offside front wheelarch bung (the rectangular one)
I’ll be driving past Telford in a month (also posted on fb but thought it easier to respond on here!
Cheers

Re: Breaking - BX 1.8TD K Reg Hatchback
HI Eathan,
Do you still have the rear parcel shelf? - If so, is it's in good condition? Also, what condition is the sun roof glass & frame itself in? Is it rusted, glass damaged etc?
If you're scrapping the car anyway, it'd be worth keeping hold of parts such as the front suspension struts (or full legs), rear cylinders, height correctors, brake douser valve, FDV, pressure regulator, front/ possibly all brake calipers, white heater control panel & front window regulators at the very least & putting them up for sale or passing them on to someone on here as they're getting very rare now. (And most are common weak spots).
Thanks.

This^^
Thinking about it, I could do with a strut cup, strut and accumulator as well.

Interesting for me to see where the rust has taken hold and a view with the front wing removed as I've not seen a BX with one removed.

Re: Breaking - BX 1.8TD K Reg Hatchback
I took plenty of pictures of the rust on this car, both inner wings, floors, sills, rear quarters, roof - if you want to see them I can show you.
Rear parcel shelf is alright though the bits that are riveted on were drilled off by one of the previous owners. The roof along the front edge of the sunscreen is gone - I will have a look tomorrow at the frame, if it's useable I will let you know

The rear shelf's riveted-on lugs could be re-made from a block of grey PVC.
I have a broken lug here, and it's on the list of things to make.
One handy source of the very-workable grey PVC is plumbing fittings.
Found a long time ago that a sizeable chunk of PVC can be made by simply solvent-welding a nest of 25-40-...... PVC pipe end closure (stop-ends) inside each other, and then using the solid lump for cutting/turning/drilling/threading whatever's needed. Solvent weld, done properly, produces a pretty much continuous material. It's also immensely strong.
As an alternative, there are blocks of grey PVC available on ebay, etc. It's a common industrial raw material, used for fabricating tanks, wet processors, small bearing blocks, and so on.

Hi, got as far as removing the tape and didn't go any further. If I've misunderstood where the frame ends and the roof begins and it might still be useable let me know but if I'm right in thinking some of this rust is the sunroof frame, I'd say the complete front edge would be like itDavid wrote: ↑Sat Sep 18, 2021 9:59 pm HI Eathan,
