Only the conical gasket at the manifold to front pipe needs a short bedding in period. The wire just settles down with heat and pressure from the two bolts. Mine was blowing slightly at the MOT (yes I could hear it) but passed as it had only had 35 minutes running since fitting (running flushing oil through) but later it settled down much quieter. The main cans should be fine. Always possible there is a pattern one with different pathways for the gas. Also the steel type can give a different harmonic resonance and you will of course be used to the old one.

This saturday David & his mate collected K743 NVL, i managed to salavge the battery, hydraulic pump, both the fronts & rear spheres, couldn't get at the accy sphere. It was a bit sad to see the car going on the back of a trailer never to be seen again, i'll just have to remember the good times that i enjoyed in that car. At least David will use parts on his & anything he doesn't need can help other cars in the future, much better than being crushed. Bye Bye, i think i'll keep my avatar for a bit, or until my other 2 BX's become roadworthy.

It's ironic - no progress on it for years but after a couple of weeks with a C5 there's a plan to get it back on the road ;)

There was a bit of progress on the TZD last year, managed to get it to fire up after the cam bearing cap & damaged camshaft were replaced, still needs a few bits doing such as the cambelt & the electrical issue which is stopping the starter from turning over. We'll have to see how much rust is lurking etc to fully evaluate what needs doing, fingers crossed :)
