The Joy of BX with just one Citroën BX to my name now. Will I sing Bye Bye to my GTI or will it be Till death us do part.

Re: My New Ride
That's deep but true. I don't lead a particularly stressful life (I leave that to the wife) but every time I sink into those comfy seats I feel myself relax as I go through the little start up routine - pump the accelerator to set the auto-choke and turn the key, engine bursts into life but dies, try again and the engine starts and settles into a fast idle as the suspension rises, switch on the dashcam, seat belt on and waft off on another adventure, even if it's just to Lidl. Heaven

Still never figured out why it dies straight away. Fitted a brand new Solex to a cust car the other day, and that did it sometimes too!panky wrote: Thu Nov 28, 2024 12:20 pm That's deep but true. Re: My New Ride
I'm thinking fuel vaporisation when the car is stood overnight after a run. The fuel filter is empty at first and it sits on top of the engine so I think it could take a couple of attempts to get the fuel through. I'm thinking of re-routing the fuel line through the wiper motor/washer bottle well as an experiment.

Re: My New Ride
My Solex Z1 32/34 fitted BX did the same (while it worked, that is). At least it was consistent, every first cold start would result in an immediate stall.Kitch wrote: Thu Dec 12, 2024 10:14 amStill never figured out why it dies straight away. Loading at Southways Automotive
Four and a half hours later at Panky HQ
Some will recognise this beauty as the car Kitch spent years restoring for his Dad Barry, I know it was a real wrench for Rich to part with it but I have assured him it is in safe and caring hands and will be used regularly. I feel very privileged to be the lucky custodian for the next chapter but I've waited a long time for the right car and this is most definitely THE one.![]()
I just love that car

Nice that it's proved to be what you waited for after all that time. Also, getting time to drive it is a big plus. Not sure when mine will be out again but at least it's ready should the time ever arrive. It's been on charge anyway, had a look at it today.
Prefer it to the Lamborghini, like Signor Gandini!

I'd have it in the living room. I'm sure my good wife wouldn't object

Re: My New Ride
Well I know folk keep classic bikes in the house so I guess it could be tucked neatly somewhere. The smell of burnt non cat fuel mght be the deal-breaker when doing a few Citrobics.
