That's deep but true. I don't lead a particularly stressful life (I leave that to the wife) but every time I sink into those comfy seats I feel myself relax as I go through the little start up routine - pump the accelerator to set the auto-choke and turn the key, engine bursts into life but dies, try again and the engine starts and settles into a fast idle as the suspension rises, switch on the dashcam, seat belt on and waft off on another adventure, even if it's just to Lidl. Heaven

I'm thinking fuel vaporisation when the car is stood overnight after a run. The fuel filter is empty at first and it sits on top of the engine so I think it could take a couple of attempts to get the fuel through. I'm thinking of re-routing the fuel line through the wiper motor/washer bottle well as an experiment.

My Solex Z1 32/34 fitted BX did the same (while it worked, that is). At least it was consistent, every first cold start would result in an immediate stall.
