Mark, if you no longer need these trims, I'll gladly buy them from you, even if I have to find some wheels to fit them.
They think it's all over, it is now!

Aha, sorry Ken, I was thinking I should look for some GTi steel wheels so that I can use the trims. It makes sense, seeing that the Meteor is dressed up as a GTi in most other respects (interior, 4 spoke steering wheel, aerofoil wing etc.) :)

(and yes I know earlier GTi's came with the standard steering wheel)

Anyone got a spare set of GTi 185's?

Mark.

I have a set of steel wheels from a 405 which are supposed to have 185 tyres on, but the tyres themselves are completely useless.

You're welcome to them for £0 if you want them, but it does mean buying a new set of tyres.

What size wheels do late TZD Turbos have as standard? The Turbo in the scanned brochure (1990) on the BX website is wearing these wheeltrims, but the size isn't given in the tech spec.

Curious... the Michelin UK website, Merityre and my BX owners handbook suggest that all BX diesels including TD came with 165/70 tyres as standard... :?

Interesting to compare online fully fitted prices (inc VAT) for the Michelin E3As:

Black Circles
165/70R14 81T £61.10ea :!:
185/60R14 82H £54.50ea

Merityre
165/70R14 81T £56.87ea
185/60R14 82H £59.56ea

Hi Mark
My TZD came with 165/70 R14 as standard, but I've changed them to 175/65 R14 as those were cheaper and easier to get here in Australia - and I think they probably handle a bit better. Not sure what the wheel size it - I think it's listed in the owners manual but haven't checked.
I have the same wheel trims as you got on eBay....if you want to sell them - I'm interested!! Interestingly, I have 3 vented wheels on the car and two non-vented - was like that when I bought it in '94. The trim on the non-vented wheel is hard to keep on as the center of the wheel seems to stick out further and prevent the trim from seating all the way - although I haven't lost it yet.
cheers,
Roscoe
