This could turn into a 'Transeurope BXpress'... The area I'm going to be heading for is about 50KM north of the Austrian border, near a place called Chesky Krumolv (?). When I do this expedition is an open question at the moment, but I would have thought the Spring is the best idea. If anyone wishes to make up a convoy (and especially if there's a mix of mechanical know-how!), who knows - we could do something!

I guess the thing is to find out how many my mate could put up in his farm! Then we could all drink a few Budvars...
I will of course, need to say, 'whoah' and not rush into organising some sort of cannonball run until some details have been worked out!
I have a couple of route options - one taking me via Munich and the other via Regensburg/Swienfurt (excuse spelling - no atlas handy!). I have spent some time in Munich in the past but never got to see the BMW museum, maybe this time?...
I would be looking at one overnight in Brussels prior to an overnight stop in Munich (possibly) and ending up in the Czech Rep. Return trip migh involve a detour to Linz... I need to give this all some thought.
Happy New Year everyone

Some years ago, a carpet company went bust, owing the taxman lots of money and the principals fled to Switzerland. The money had secretly been spent on collecting and restoring Bugattis - about 300 of them. The Arts Minister seized them in lieu of tax debts as a national treasure. Like I said, just another car museum...

He teases indeed.Several years ago,I read a book about the place, what a facinating story.I've also seen several programs about the place and read several articles. If there's a place a petrol(or diesel ) head should go once in his life, this is it .I haven't been myself yet but one day I will

In 30 years' time, someone will write "Oh yes, (insert your name of choice) went bust a few years ago - the money had been spent on restoring vintage BXes in Walmington-on-Sea", and everyone will go "OOOhh, sounds great, when can we go?"
Dream on....
