75mpg does seem rather too good to be true; I guess the late NA diesels must have got the extra tankette...

Yes, its got the extra tank, so it can take 66litres, which does give it a very good range. I think it must be slightly better than 50mpg as it normally only takes 60 litres to fill up, wheres my calculator....

Fuel lamp solidly on usually means you can fill about 61 or 62 litres, although that's assuming you absolutely brim it.

60 litres for 670 miles is 50.8 MPG. Not a bad figure for general driving at all.

Cheers for working that out, that did include a run of 300 miles upto Newcastle & back. I never seem to get much over 50mpg even if i take it easy?

The only way you'll ever really improve on that is to dawdle up the first lane of the motorway at about 45-50mph with a featherlight right foot.

... causing massive problems with trucks pulling out, coaches avoiding you, caravans all over the road, etc.etc.etc. Not realistic at all.
