This looked more promising than the Meteor, but... no MOT, no Tax, not pristine and a pre-facelift model with the pipe problems that that might incur... £500? Having a laff.

Is that a fact or a joke? What difference is there?

The clocks.
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

Not really the dash then. Isn't there more than one supplier during the production years of the Mk2 anyway, Jaeger and Veglia? Also variations between models esp on rev counters and the smaller function dials?

Yes, I "clocked" that, i was thinking, oh sod it buy a petrol Auto, but I agree, metal pipes, no MOT, laid up, dints in side - not worth £500 - TBH i wouldnt give any more than £150 as it is, but then Im a tight arse probably.

Off back into hospital today, so I have the motorpost and autotrader to peruse during my stay.

Dash and clocks look the same as the last few BXs I've had.

Marty: good luck and if you spot any cheap 3.5 tonne beavertail trucks in the 'trader send me a pm please!

Yup a few MK2s had different clocks, they are interchangeable I think, anyway just pointing it out.

I would have thought the sub-30 MPG average would put most people off.

Even on a decent run you'll get low thirties at best.
this might be a signature

Sorry, but with no MOT not at that price.

Anyway, made a pleasing discovery today - I can change gear, it hurts a little bit but gear changes and the handbrake are a distinct posibiity, using the left hand to mve the steering wheel is still a no go area.

Giving very serious consideration to Mr adams' Vauxhall, its the lack of PAS that worries me a bit as the right wrist is only marginally better than the left in terms of pain on movement.

Another tyre kicker todat came to view the bike, wanted to offer me £400! i could get more stripping it for parts.

Yep, you can swop the entire instrument set over, but you cant interchange say the rev counter from one to the other if you see what I mean.

I do rather like the early clocks, they have that slightley more vintage look about them.

Good luck M, hope it all goes smoothley.
