I think I prefered my CX to the XM but that may be a case of rose tinted glasses as its been many years since I had the CX. The suspension is fantastic on them and its simple not hydractive, so less to go wrong. However they are not a perfect car, the boot was small and the heater wasn't good as it seemed to heat the screen and my head but not my feet. But they are a very classy motor car. Typically Citroen. \:D/

2 Years ago i had a 16v. Lovely car and a quick one as well. Was silver with Black leather.

only kidding matey, looks good.
I would say that the cx turbo would be quicker and the black one definitley would. It has a maikonics upgrade that takes the BHP up to 250 - it's quick..

I think smiffy has some sort of upgrade on his and it's uber quick apparently! I think a CX has just joined the 'one day' section :P We used to car share with a farmer who had a CX Safari in white. I loved that car, although I was a bit too young to appreciate the suspension!

Ah cool stuff, I've always wanted to have a play with one. Do you ever drive it up to pod or anything like that? 250bhp CX would ruffle some feathers!

Maikonics uprated Turbo-1 and Turbo-2 engines. They offered a number of options, including replacing the original chip, a competition clutch, uprated intercooler (or an intercooler in the first place for a Turbo-1), and a number of other things. Their complete set of modifications achieved a performance of 440 bhp on a Turbo-2. Neil's CGAT is an example of this -
CGAT

230 BHP for the Turbo 1 Engine
250 BHP for the Turbo 2 Engine (With Intercooler)

Mine is Turbo 2 so 250 BHP - also on my car it has a bespoke one off maikonics exhuast system fitted - 76mm / 3 inch all way through!

Just bought a Boost controller and an open to air blow of valve so will be fitting them soon.

Well, the turbo 2 had a 0-60 of about 7.8 seconds so i would say it would be about 6.something. After 60mph, it accelerates easily as anything to 100mph and at about 120mph it feels only like 40mph!!! And it is still pulling along niceley.

Unfortunatley no. Simon at maikonics stopped a while back. I have two maikonics AEi boxes. 1 fitted on the black car and 1 in the garage.

Which will simply make your engine run rich on the over-run. The standard recurculating pressure dump valve is a far better system.

It'll also put you in the same league as burberry clad baseball cap wearing chavvy wankers that have blow off valves fitted to a Mr. Turbo Kit fitted to their poxy little 1.0 litre Corsa's with 3000 tonnes of plastic shit glued to it.
Lets face it, who doesn't, when hearing a direct to atmosphere blow off valve, immediatley think "wanker"....?
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Dump valves.

I was waiting for the comment of the 'dump valve' / 'blow of valve'.

I am not a fan of them but when i bought the second Maikonics kit it came with it so I thought I might put it on - but it will now stay in the garage.

Just the other day this Fiat Punto drove past and this deafening whoosh came from it and after that there was a massive cloud of black smoke.
