me again

had a funny experience with the suspension this morning.
after the car had been parked for an hour or so, after having been used, i started it, and could hear the accumulator ticking, but the front wouldnt quite go up. it wasnt right down on the floor, but when i drove it (for about a mile) it felt a bit bouncy and stiff.

shortly afterwards, it must have raised properly as all of a sudden it vanished. i remember on the trs (now with tim) that the front end also used to go down when parked, however on this car, even after being parked all night the front still sits high.

i am just curious as to what might be causing this, i will check the lhm in the morning, and also will i have done any damage driving it below 30mph for about 1-2 miles?

Sounds like a sticky height corrector. Doubtful you've done damage.

Like BXBandit says, it's probably nothing worse than a sticky front height corrector....or stiff front struts.
Might be worthwhile giving the old girl a good Citroebics session
You know the routine......sit in car, height control lever to bottom, let car settle, height lever to top, let car rise, back down again, etc., etc,. etc!

they do tend to get a bit lazy and stiff with age (like us all!).

There is a chance that there might be a bit of crud lodged in the front HC, causing it to be a bit sticky. I know Aerodynamica has successfully reconned the HCs...there is a thread somewhere detailing this, also your LHM may have got a tad "yucky" and a good flush out & refill with new LHM can work wonders. I am currently running my BX on 100% Hydraurincage (LHM flush!), and have done so for the past 1500 miles! I will be draining the flush and refilling with new LHM soon! THe difference I have noticed in both the suspension and steering/braking has been very noticeable, so well worth the £16 it cost for a 5 litre can of Hydraurincage from GSF.

Try a good Citroebics session as your first, cheapest, option! It really does help.

have checked fluids and done some cit-robics, all seems well, drives well too, no problems to report.

will investigate further if it is recommended

yes-sticky height corrector probably.

As Mountainman says, give it the hydraflush treatment, clean the LHM reservoir & filter and flush it through the brakes.

Often these cars so not get a complete fluid change for many years,
and prevention is better than cure.

It does not cost much, but it is a bit messy.

Phil is right- ALWAYS use 2 axel stands, a flat BXagon co driver is of no use to me.

yeh, if i were flat then you could get more wine/cheese/anything else in.

driving could be a challenge though.

im into self preservation, so i think ill stay as i am
