Anyone remember the fairly unusual lime green BX pickup that was about the place?

Is there more than one of these creations out there? Does anyone have any idea what the useful rear load length was? Was it/were they made from estates or saloons?

Sorry for all the stupid questions (im sure you will get used to them)

I remember it up on eBay a fair time ago. I thought it looked a bit of a bodge, mind you...

yes, I agree it was urm, thinks, 'interestingly' done.

I've just been thinking i need a vehicle to ocassionally move motorcycles etc and dont want a van or something and trailer if possible, if the load area is sufficient maybe something like the BX pickup (or another converted - ohh the heresy) might do the trick.

Think it was listed about £400 which is probably about the same as your insurers would want off you.

(i think that someone has a van in the CCC) 8)

The van is owned by Dave Shove who is part of both the CCC and 2CV GB. It's one of around 40 or so (I think) right hand drive versions produced for sale in Ireland. Something to do with their tax laws!?!?

Think they're almost as rare in left hand drive - if not rarer as very few were produced by Heuliez.

And I want one!!

i think that it has rear seats, i know that in this country years ago

the purchase tax was cheaper for vans

so people would buy them and then added windows and rear seats later :D cheap estate car

maybe the same rules apply in other countries

NB. I’ve seen 4 door versions in other countries too

Quite a few tradesmen I know have used BXs as work vehicles, good economy, large boot, motorway comfort, cheap! would you rather drive an ex post office escort or a BX?
