Those stripes are very Alpina of that era... not quite the same effect though

Liking the alloys. Would they be 5.5 inch or narrower, do you reckon?

The alloys are 6J if that's the right measurement Phil.

Funny thing is I bought a set today completely unplanned. I went to visit Frank who runs an independant Citroen garage by The Rhine ( the hills that I drove over to get there are still covered in snow with more falling!)

I was just going to look in his parts shed for a couple of things that I need but he's got his wife's old BX TZi parked up there ( A/C, wooden Heuliez steering wheel and gear knob!) with this set of silver Swift II alloys in the back.
" You wouldn't want to sell those?" I asked as I do everytime. This time he said " make me an offer"
So I made him a stupidly low offer, he upped it by €20, pointing out that the Michelin Energy tyres on them are good. I need summer tyres anyway so for the price of one new tyre I got the whole bundle with the nuts too! They've got 175/65s on them which are wider than what I've had before - might have to cut some off the rear inner arches.

I'm wondering whether these wheels will take the 195s that the 16v's got? I have seen a set on a 16v but the TüV paperwork that came with these wheels and specifies what tyres are suitable is long gone.

If they're 6j's, 195's will be fine :D

I quite fancy some of those alloys myself, you seem to be bagging all the sets

I know someone else wanted a set as well, Nstarmore I think. There's a load of them out there still, judging by the amount of BXs that come up on German Ebay with them fitted. Problem is, getting them over to the UK. Probably will be in the saloon ( as in hatch not boozer - I never go near those places!) on next visit rather than hippy bus and that will be filled with baby equipment I suppose.

Frank has actually got another set in his shed but the condition is so so - the covers are missing and they need a re-spray. I thought they might be good for the matt black treatment and run them without covers, exposing my nuts, on the ratty 16v but the wife doesn't get the whole rat/rust thing :D

How was your skiing by the way Mulley?

Skiing was kinda great & not so great. I picked up an injury before my hols, so only managed 1 & a bit days, the weather was shite most of the time so luckily i dont feel that i missed out too much.

The full day i had was superb, ski'd over to valdisere, i realised that this is the 1st wks skiing i've done in 20 years  First run was a blue, 2nd was called le face, its a world cup downhill run (black of course). Looked down & thought what the fxxk, went down it like i remembered i could :D

I've got the skiing bug now, i might have to pop over & join you for some skiing next year  Even my all in one ski-suit is back in fashion
