For a minute there Phil I thought you were breaking yours!

The clocks would be very useful for anyone without a temperature gauge, make sure you get the sender as well (Citroen want about £17 for a new one).

:D No not mine.

This one looks pretty clean considering: it appears to have at least one original trim too, which might suggest - along with the low mileage - a somewhat unabused car. Age has probably killed it in the end. I even considered the autobox... but I have nowhere to keep it and there's absolutely no way of knowing if I'd ever actually need it!

Are you sure it's blue? It's in a 'blue' setting but I'd say it was more dolmen grey...

Doesnt matter what colour it is Phil, his idea of "cheap" isnt mine, £8 per wheeltrim and £40 for a bonnet for example. Plus he wants similar moneys again to post them so maybe I will give it a miss.

Well, bonnet for £40 ain't stratospheric IMHO, but God knows what he would expect for a gearbox.

True but at £80 delievered its pricey, if he can confirm the colour code, negotiate a wee bit and will let me collect it then its worth a punt.

That price for delivery is extortionate.....I had a diff for a 300 merc delivered from Gloucs somewhere (must have weighed over 20kgs) and all for £20 and overnight as well.

GTI Auto Breaking

Post by rhv100 »

I"ve bought the clocks....£20.I thought that was fair. He included two

temp senders as well.Sent it all by return so I"m not complaining.

Postage was £6.50 I don"t know whether this is good or bad,but hey!

much cheaper than a new unit......and it was mint! Whatever caused

this car to be scrapped? Now all I need to do is get the steering rack

back on!!!

Is anyone near Swansea who can remove and take an auto box for collection later? Is anyone, with a GTi auto, interested in paying a proportion of the cost as a sort of insurance against box failure on their BX? It's a low mileage 55k example that's fine apparently. No issues - £100. Unfortunately I'm too far away.
