Couple of Day's ? I posted this FIND on May the 9th !Jayboy wrote:Damn! This is what I miss for not checking in for a couple of days
Take a look at this link:-
http://www.bxclub.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10536
After all the in the Spotted Title its does state
"Tell us about BX's you have spotted, or are for sale or are EBAY finds"
Which I assumed is intended for where a BX is for Sale but is not the property of who has spotted it !
However under the heading :-
'BX For Sale/Wanted'
Buy or sell BX's, BX parts etc!
This obviously were a Forum member places their BX or BX parts which are For Sale and who's property it is !
Maybe the Spotted needs amending
Sorry Jayboy if you've missed out on this BX, if it's now been Sold

As far as I'm aware......the black BX GT has NOT been sold (yet).Sorry Jayboy if you've missed out on this BX, if it's now been Sold
I am ringing the owner this evening, to arrange a "viewing" for this Saturday, if possible! I have not made any offer yet, and I may not yet do so (funds are tight, and SWMBO is not exactly singing from my hymnsheet on this!).
That said.....I really hope that I can come to some arrangement, as I would LOVE to own this car!!!
I have the owner's email address and contact telephone number, plus a few photos of the car.....so if anyone is interested, I can let them have the details.

Well that's what I get for not checking every post then... my fault entirely, wasn't suggested it was posted in the wrong place but the new title did rather attract my attention!
Well, I could be interested so wouldn't mind second dibs on it if you don't buy it Mountainman Dave, but a car with no MoT would prove to be a logistical nighmare as my van was when I went to get it. Wasn't looking to buy another car but for this....I might be persuaded!
Can you send me pics too - PM sent with email

As Tim said........
Negotiations with SWMBO are currently in the early stages
I reckon the best way to get this GT going, without butchering the original lock, would be to take one of the door lock barrels (pass side probably best, as less wear) to a proper, old-fashioned locksmith, and get him to make a key to fit. That would then fit the ignition SEEMPLES!!
I must admit that I like the car, and it has a lot of potential.
With the key problem sorted, the engine etc could be better tested, but judging by the overall rustfree-ness of the rest of the car, and no apparent oil leaks, drips, etc......I don't imagine it would take that much expense to get an MOT on her!
New exhaust back-box fitted, and new starter motor, just before the car was laid up in 1997. Was regularly started, driven out of the garage, washed, and put back in garage again, every week or two, until the key was broken (NOT in the lock!) around 6/7 years ago.
Car has the GT "computer" fitted (and was working!).....owner had just changed backlight bulb!!
Water stain on drivers seat from leak in past. All BX rust-points appear sound, although underneath pipework unchecked due to car being on floor!!!
