Anyone ever tried to...

Post by cavmad »

...put leather seats from an XM (or any other car come to that) into a BX? I can see that the rears almost certainly wouldn`t fit but as a lad I know put XM leather front seats into a VW Golf without too much effort I wondered if anyone else had tried in a BX?

Condidering that I have Vauxhaul Cavalier MK3 seats in my Citroen C25 van, I'm fairly sure you can fit almost any seat to any car. Just depends on how adept you are at making brakets and adaptors.

I fitted a pair in a LandRover a few years ago with no bother. The mountings on the seat have a hook at the rear and a bolt hole at the front. These mounts unbolt so you maybe can fit the BX mounts onto the leathers. Worth a pop if you can get the seats cheap enough

Hmmm, i have a mate with a 405 with a XM engine and XM leather interior, and that fits front and back, but the electric buttons have to be taken off with the side pods. With the BX i would locate these to the centre console!

Now when he was last up here i st for quite some time and measured them up. They share almost the same mount points as the BX, they will push against the centre console a bit more, but will be plenty away form the door!

I love those seats as they move all over the place, it's great! I'm after a set of heated electic XM front seats if they turn up, though NOT after the leather, i know my place in the que!

Well, it also has to have 405 Torsen-style 4x4, and be an estate.

How about steering wheel controls for the stereo, an outside air thermometer, and cup holders?
