INSURANCE

Post by tim leech »

Stuart mentioned earlier he pays alot for the insurance on his BX, I pay £105 each for the BX and the Xantia, and less for the SD1 as its on classic insurance, all I admit are on a limited mileage policy but if you are interested a friend of mine is the Manager of a Insurance Broker and is VERY CHEAP and give a great service.

Call 0115 9734437 ask for Ian Brackenbury and tell him you know Tim Leech (of TL DARBY VW) and you should get agood deal!

I called Adrian Flux yesterday and asked them for a quote with club membership. It was £60 cheaper with club membership than without. Another argument for a formally constituted club with a membership fee. I shall definitely be calling Tim's mate.

I'm 22 with no no claims now (BMW drivers :x ) and 10 points.

On BX 16v agreed value £1500 (made no difference on premium!)

I'm not saying how much it is a year, but it hurts. Its only £150 more than a 1.4 ZX though.

I'm 23 and have just insured the 4x4 on another policy (i've already got 1 for the 2cv and 1 for the Golf).

I got it for 230something. Fully Comp as it was no more than TP only.

My 16v is £290pa fully comp although why I bother for a £400 motor I don't know! Third party would do me fine - unless I need a windscreen...

My Rover P6 V8 was £144pa on classic, unlimited mileage, agreed value.

Finally! Proof that if I had a BX16v with a petrol engine i wouldn't have a license, glad i was right about that!

However i drive a BX16v with a performance engine modification (see told you all that the TD was better!) and as such the insurance take me from behind and steal £860 TPF&T!!!!!!

22, no points, 1yr NCB, driving regular for 5+ years, car parked on drive at parents (which is more turth than i wish for!). However im a full time student!

Flux will not insure me because i might take the car near a university! I have had an appology from them, fools, so i take my buisness else where!

Oh, also have PGAC membership which helps with 'club membership' and 'show' condition!

Actually I aquired those while in the ownership of a Honda Prelude and a Saxo lol! I've never been pulled over in the BX! If I ever wind her up and a copper hears me, I only have to coast by and he looks right past it!

Its ideal.
