Meteor with no MOT and a hole £150

Post by scarecrow »

I know this one was mentioned about a month or two ago, but it turns out it's still up for sale and the owner has sent me some more piccys if anyone else is interested.

And the one that put me off which the seller told me is a hole just above the sill inside the rear door. Could be on the moon looking at the picture as far as I can tell

The seller told me today that it should go through an MOT. He wants about £150 and it's done around 130k miles.

He also told me he was going to America on Sunday morning until September.

The car is Boston Lincs.

Hi Tim

That's more-or-less what I suggested to him.

I would offer him £100 as is tops and see what he says, or ask him to MOT it for you and you pay for the MOT and the £150 hes asking if it passes :D !

I don't think he's interested as he's going to America in a few days. The car doesn't 'grab' me really - I've decided to pursue the red Mk1 as something about its minimalist exterior is attractive - it looks more like an old car.

Ok Steve, good luck, just remember Mk1 parts are VERY hard to get hold of!

WHAT?!

LOL - I thought most bits would be interchangeable with Mk 2's apart from the obvious front wings/indicators - oh, and the lovely weird interior. I don't suppose they are going to bite my hand off anyway as I made a very fair offer

You're quite right, most parts are identical, and many of the others interchangable in an emergency...

Sorry I phrased that wrong, I mean as interior parts etc.

Ahh - that's reassuring - the interior looks very good indeed on this car (though I may have to cover the seats on account of my very ginger dog).

I haven't heard anything from the sellers so I'll ring today to give them the pleasure of rejecting it personally.

Seems fair enough to me - fix the rusty bits and I'll buy the car! Oh well, never had much luck with traders (no offence Tim)
