My 1st ever BX & did i enjoy driving her back all the way from Glasgow when i won her off e-bay, ripping past cars, it was so easy.

She needs some work before going back on the road, so hopefully club members will be able to help as she looks sad sat on the drive doing nowt...

If u look carefully above, you can just make out Poppy again standing guard....This was at the Cholmondly Castle meet.

Dude, thats a lovely looking car, but it needs alloys! Urgently.

Doc - i've already got a set of alloys with tasty Yoko's on, just not bothered fitting them seeing as the car is just stood still at the mo.

Mind u, this one is the more likely of the 2 to be going back on the road after the knackered cam issue on the tzd......

Might be cheaper just to buy another car(s)

Totally off topic,I spy a lesser spotted Cavmad talking to yours truly in the first picture.Also A man in a yellow collared anorak(Gareth?) appears to be delving into my boot for some "famous Barnsley pork pie" and a man(Oscar?) appears to have fallen under the front of Oily's "Hooligan"

Tried that trick to free up the semi-stuck heater control & then it decided to break, useless piece of xxxx. Sometimes i really hate these cars....

Washed the car today, came up very nicely, fair bit of grime & algae, however she has been off the road for 1.5years

Freshly charged battery & a few litres of fuel & she seemed to run fine.

Sticky front struts, so put some 3in1 oil down the turret holes to ease it a bit....

Booked in for an MOT, replacement cambelt, water pump & tensioner next week. so fingers crossed she'll pass.

I think i will get underneath before the mot & try & clean up the underneath as i do have a slight lhm leak, possibly from fdv. If i do try & nip it up a bit, do i have to be ultra careful?

I'll check the pipes & re-oil them etc..to make them look in good condition incase they arent...

I have a nasty suspision that i'm going to get a fail sheet as long as my arm, dont know why, but i do think this car is a bit rusty in places, lets hope its all in the non critical areas....

Got an insurance quote which seemed reasonable, so here's hoping....

Took the car for a quick spin round the block to try & get the brakes working against the rusty discs, i've missed that immediate accelaration, the diesels really are slugs in comparison...

Anybody want to give me a hand fettling the beast over the weekend

Be warned, oiling your pipes can lead to a fail because the MOT oinks consider that as suspension leaks. I know this because they failed me on the metal strut return pipes "being corroded and seriously weakened" Bollocks cause pipes were strong as an Ox and they were low/no pressure anyway but it caused me to have to replace pipes that are no longer available just for visual effect to get the retest. Luckily the lad i know who does the mot isnt an arse, so that wont be a problem. I'll be using a concotion to coat the pipes, so he'll know as he passed my other one with the exact same treatment. Cheers for the warning though, some testers can be arsey...

Time to resurrect this thread. Even though i got the car mot'd last year & had the cambelt etc done, she never went back on the road, until last Saturday

Both inner front wings were rusted, i knew it would be an mot fail, so got that sorted & she passed her mot.

Drove her down to the National, all the memories of this great car came back, got a few little jobs to sort but i think unfortunately she will be shortly up for sale as i just cant see myself driving her that much & i'm worried that with so little use a myriad of problems will start developing, so i think a new home would be best

In the meantime i'll enjoy driving her, she's so much more lively than my txd

Got her insured on a 1500 mile fully comp policy with Footman James, £102 for the year, not too bad.....

Only one side, the new owner can sort that as i've done/had the rest of the car sorted.....
