Citroën BX TXD TURBO Spotted For Sale (on E-BAY).

Post by RxBX »

Nice Looking 1993 BX TXD Turbo in Green, but may have some issues to get it thro' the next MOT !
Has Speedlines :D and a Tailblazer if you like those thing's
Seller has stated It's being sold for spares, or for someone that would like to put it back on the road, LINK (Ken, is this the one, might be a cheap one)?
E-Bay Seller wrote: The bad points:
* The Alternator doesn't work and therefore the battery won't charge (Diagnosed by The AA)
* There's a sizeable crack across the left hand side of the windscreen.
* There's rust underneath the car. (Lots of this was welded last year to get it through it's MOT, so being honest, there may well be more now.)
* There's a rust hole the 5CM in diameter on the drivers door sill.
The good points:
* The engine is very reliable and starts (when the battery is charged!) first time, every time.
* The interior is in great condition (never been smoked in)
* It has TZD Turbo alloy wheels
* It comes with a roof rack (including 2x Halford bike racks)
* It comes with a tow bar
* All the electrics work (dashboard bulbs/dimmer/heater fans/reading/interior lights/rear heated screen/clock.
* It can/could get 50 miles to the gallon

Hi Jonathan !
Glad it's gone to a good home and best of luck with it and obviously not shy to a bit of welding from your postings that I've seen on theXM Forum

BTW if your still going to have a go for that XM and are trying to source a decent strut top I may know of a source for some if he's not sold them, not cheap but the same price for a pair as 'WHM' want for one (These are the 22mm dia. size) !

I did know of another source slightly cheaper but the last decent one IIRC was for the O/S/F which is the side that's Speared the bonnet (As there handed and was for the 22mm dia. strut) which I got for Ken Newbold and as you already know there not cheap as you've stated on the XM Forum £390.64 each was that for the 22mm one ?
Because when I got the price for the 25mm dia. one it was £420.49 per side
But as this is the BX Forum I'll end with that and send you a PM with all the spec's and sizes etc which you need to be aware of (I've not joined the new XM Forum yet ! I must get signed up).

Once again good look with the BX, at least it does not look like it will need much polishing to bring it up to Tim's standards :D

Thankyou for your most informative post, the price I looked up was indeed for the 22mm version, robbing swines!

Hopefully the rust won't be too bad on the TXD, but the external bodywork looks straight which is the main thing, having brought various well-rotten 2cvs and Dyanes back from the brink, the rust a BX can create pales somewhat into significance...

Collection may be somewhat delayed however, as the thing would seem to be in the midst if a cherished number swap :(
