WANTED: Nice BX

Post by Ian_Fearn »

I'm sure a few of you know but i'm looking for another BX to replace my boring Golf which i've sold to a colleague at work who wants it soon.

What i'm looking for is something in excellent condition, ie i dont want any of the door hinge or wheel arch rust.

Also i dont want something that needs lots of work. I'm prepared for running repairs but i dont want to take on a restoration project.

Ideally it needs to have power steering too.

My first choice would be a turbo diesel but i will consider anything and with my current mileage a diesel would be preferred. It would ideally be a hatchback too.

I'm prepared to pay whatever it takes to get the right car.

So if any of you out there have a nice TZD or any diesel that you might be prepared to part with to help out a fellow enthusiast PLEASE PLEASE pm me.

A day of trawling the ad's and ringing people up has revealed plenty of sold cars.

I'm probably asking a lot but it must be out there somewhere and i consider ebay to be a bit of a risk for buying cars. I really dont want to lose the sale on the Golf as i've got a bloody good price for it (Tim Leech will confirm that!!)

Not having driven a TZD admittedly, I`ll be willing to bet a fiver that the Maestro TD would walk all over one and I ain`t kidding.
Build quality and rust problems aside I`ll always stick up for the Maestro because deep down they are actually quite good fun and are more reliable than some would have you believe.
Still prefer a TZD but I`ll definately get a Perkins TD Maestro one day.

i very nearly bought a taxed and tested 1300cc petrol meastro off e-bay for about 30 quid ( i think it went for 45)

I needed transport :-)

In the end i got a free GSA that i stuck in for an MOT and it passed :-)
