Looked like the UK until I saw the palm tree!

Whats with the cone filter though? Did it come with it? Cos all it'll be doing is drawing in hot air and reducing power!

Yeah , it came with the car and i do not have the bits to use the standard air filter. You are quite right at that position it is only drawing warm/hot air, and its not a gti either, with a front vent. Might look for an extension so i can place it where the standard filter usually is.

Welcome Dinesh, looks like a solid car you have there, the 19trs engine is pretty decent with plenty of midrange poke as these cars are so light so even 105bhp feels decent. Same power in a similar sized modern car wouldnt blow the skin off a rice pudding

As Kitch says, i'd just extend the pipe where the air filter is to get away from the heat, or if you can find a scrapped car take the relevant bits off to have the original air filter system, you can always fit a k&n to fit that if you wanted.

Look forward to hearing how you plan to improve your car etc...

I have always wanted a Citroen since i first went to a Citroen dealership when i was 7. We went and i saw a BX on display and i thought Dad had come to buy it , it was a black 16v. But it turned out that dad had come to get a Jappa they had traded in for a Citroen.
Well, up till now i have had predominantly Volvos since passing my driving test until last year when i sold a set of wheels to a guy whose family were Citroen enthusiasts and we got talking and he mentioned that they had three BXs. Been wanting a BX since but usually when the right car came i had no money. Just last month i was looking for a pug 205 for mum so i joined the French car forum in NZ , there a member said that he maybe interested in selling his car, so i bought it after having a look.
And that is how i ended up with a bx19trs

Welcome along. Nice looking BX and environs .That's a good story too. You're going to have to get yourself a black 16v now to compensate for that early disappointment! :D
