16v leather and air, near Munich!

Post by toddao »

I'm sorely tempted by this. It's being sold as a parts vehicle but I don't think any enthusiast could bring themselves to break it. The TÜV has just expired and it's got quite a few issues - resto job really. I don't think the reserve can be that high and it's not far away!

Tasty Valver!

It doesnt look to be in too bad a shape, rust in the usual spots as per the photo's, as long as the engine doesnt need an overhaul & underneath isnt pickled, it could turn out to be a belter. Go for it Todd :D

It needs re-piping, welding and some problem with the steering. It runs and idles well and is driveable though he describes the drivetrain as 'well used'..

Mmm, just got to overcome the 'irrational' resistance from the wife! :o

Just spotted this as well. Would be too big a job for me, still no experience with welding. And the seats really are in bad shape. Hardly repariable. But still... It's really cheap, and everything's there. If I had the space and if I was a bit more experienced, and if it was a bit closer, or if I had a tow truck, I would go for it!

So many "if"s... ;)

Well, it's got those leather head-rests you're looking for Carl! Rear ones too and I don't think the seats are so bad - I don't think I've seen a leather drivers seat without those rips. Probably Frugg's new low mileage leather interior is rip free.
I don't have a tow truck or welding experience ( just the equipment now) and barely the space but so many 'no's' must equal a big irrational 'YES!' :D

Isn't Remys interiour in mint condition? Well. It's a brilliant Valver, you should have it :D

If you go for it, please, please let me know when you're tackling a bigger job, so I could join in and learn something.
From all the little jobs I've done on my BX I must say that once you know how it works, it's simple...

The reserve has been attained - €150. There seems to be a lot of interest - it looks like the 'president' of the French BX Club is after it too.
I've got a trailer sorted to be pulled by the once again fully functional
Merc 406D ( if it can take it!) but I can't bid too much for what is actually a needy, well loved ( if desirable) example and will need €€€s undoubtedly.

Went for €350 - not to me unfortunately. The wife threw a wobbly and I didn't even bid  It was the rusty 16v or my nads

Well, you've done the kid thing, so really, do you need your nads?

I mean, if they got the lop, you'd have the car, and be able to have as much, er, carnal score increase as you like with no fear of any more nippers!

Win win I'd say!

Thanks Doc - always to be relied on for sound advice!

I see that you'd like a Lexus LFA - couldn't you just build your own one from various bits you've got lying about? Make it a bit longer too, with a few more seats - like a sort of 'LFA bus?'

Answer for everything me!
Nearly always the wrong answer mind...

I am quite taken by it yes. I think I could live with one of those on the drive, although at over £300,000 I think I'll wait to see how they fair on the used market!
