White Citroen 1990 BX TGD on E-Bay Ended 9th Nov..

Post by gordy »

Yes I bought it for £184 and drove 248 miles from Cambridge afterwards past Brum at 1700hrs. Yes Ain't I mad.
£20 Diesel for journey. Whats that at £1.10 a litre ??
Anyway nice interior;dark grey velvet sort material better than my other TGD Slush box with its light grey rough material.
Tyres; 4 off, few mm worn off. Spare yuck.
Suspension;as it should be but sinks at back after hour or two.
Engine in a black mess but goes ok.
New alternator; whats price of one of those ??
Exhaust;intact and sealed.
Sunroof works,wooow.
I shouldn't be saying this but it did 90 no prob on M6. BMW & Merc guys just had to pass me though after I passed them. It was fun..
Thats it, pitty its for the chop to feed my 1992 TGD Slush Box.
Got a Tech tool for this chop too. Big mash hammer with head like an axe.
Come on you "NUMPTIES" screw my words !!!!!!!

Scottish I guess given the location! :P
Foreign or not, to join a forum and within 6 posts start calling its member "NUMPTIES" and "You dozy lot" is, in my opinion, bad manners.
I don't have a problem with mickey taking in general but it doesn't come across that way.

Gordy, you wouldn't perhaps be Gordon Brown the supposed Prime Minister of The U of K - I recognise that style of talking. I think the BX is good enough for any heads of state, royalty, pissheads etc..! :D

I wouldn't have thought our government could afford such luxury as a BX with the state they have gotten our economy in to..

My New TGD.

Sorry about the Numpties, just giving back which I got when answering the squeeky, creaky rear suspension prob. Took this to be the norm when talking to you's.
Yes I'm foreign, Scottish to you, from just ootside Edinburgh near the notorious Sherriffhall Rooondaboot. And no we don't all wear kilts and eat haggis everyday. Just weekends.
Wifes the one that shoots pills, aboot 24 a day. Druggy would have a field day in her pill box.
Gordy.....
PS..What aboot the car ????

TBH, you purchased a known good car? to use for parts for you other one? If that's the case, your on the wrong forum for any help i'm afraid. We don't condone scrapping cars unecesserily, if i've gotten that wrong then please feel free to correct me.

As to help, if anyone hasn't been put off by your sense of humour, they'll be replying to that particular thread.

Well actually, despite Gordy's attitude, I did answer his questions, he's just clearly ignored advice given...

My Nice BX

Post by gordy »

Ok,ok its got a repreive till MOT runs out next june. As well as that its needed to pull my one ton trailor about. Drives nice mind you but not as tight as my other TGD Auto with only 60,000mls on it. In other words its getting loose as per the advisory notice for wear in steering rack. Nearside outer sill in poor condition also advised.
Hope this meets you guys restoration hopes and by next year anything could happen like winning the lottery.

PS and as too ignoring advice, the bearings in my Auto's rear arms are as new/no wear. I have extensive bearing removing and fitting tools so this was easily checked, as stated. Repacked on reasembly yes.

Gordy, its your car, you can do what you want with it, i was just trying to make a point. This club is about helping others & also saving cars, of course if cars are beyond saving as either the jobs are too large or the garage is going to charge mega bucks, then we appreciate that fact. Quite often these cars get advertised for nowt or scrappage prices for someone else to own & repair & get up & running again (if anyone wants to make the effort of course), othertimes they just get listed for parts etc due to no interest.

Didnt Doc reply to your post about some of the problems your car has got?
