My New 4x4!

Post by Ian_Fearn »

Image

I got a call of this guy offering me a free BX GTi 4x4. Its been a little chavved and the spline input shaft has gone.

Thanks to Billy the car will be picked up by him on saturday (hopefully!) where it'll go to his yard where i'll have the newly rebuilt 140odd BHP engine and all the transmission and Billy will have those desirable lights and wheels.

Providing the car makes it back to Billys on saturday he will be nominated for BX'er on the week.....

jammy swine. :-)

nice looking motor, BX's seem to suit a little mild chavving.

Looks like Stewarts had a go at that bonnet!

Ian do u want to sell the side repeaters? Does that mean your breaking it?

Put the number plate back where it should be and maybe some proper wheels and it will look better! Looks very shiny tho! Is tha a recent picture? Surely far too good to break guys! :?

Yes, why break it?

fix the drive shaft, put the No. plate back on the front properly, new bonnet, loose the front bumper extensions before a road hump does it for and you have a smart looking BX 4x4.

I like the white mirrors.

Ian..

If you do decide to break this car for it's engine, I believe this could be the ideal shell to do the "ultimate BX 4x4" conversion on... that is, a Torsen centre differential from a 405. Much stronger than a standard "open diff" centre, and along with an XUD11 2.1TD, would make a fantastic car......

and I might just know where there's a 405 MI16 4x4 that's been rolled. Hmmmmmmm.
this might be a signature

Im not into modified cars, but one thing ive always wanted is some of those duel round headlamps. Does anyone know where you can get them from? Also, I love the wheels on that car, as well as the painted mirrors. Its just the bumper extension and bonnet intake that has taken it a bit far (unless the bonnet intake serves a significantly useful purpose that is). What has been done to the engine to make it 140 BHP? I suppose all the knowhow and parts will be out there due to the 205 nuts.

I used to have a standard GTi that had been chipped from very early on in its life. The paperwork showed it was a Stratchip and was supposed to give 140bhp. It certainly felt like it.
